Common questions

Why can't I trade CFDs or forex CFDs in the US?

Off-exchange contracts for difference (CFDs) cannot be legally offered to US retail traders. US derivatives trading happens on regulated exchanges instead — futures and, more recently, CFTC-regulated event contracts (prediction markets). That is why this section covers futures and event contracts rather than the CFD brokers featured elsewhere on the site.

Is Plus500 US the same company as Plus500 elsewhere?

It is the same group but a different, US-regulated entity. US futures and prediction markets are offered by Plus500US Financial Services LLC, a Futures Commission Merchant registered with the CFTC (NFA ID 0001398) and a full member of CME Group — not the CFD entities that operate outside the US.

How much do I need to start?

Plus500 US lets you open a futures account and start trading from a $10 minimum deposit by debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay ($200 by wire). A free demo account with unlimited virtual funds is available to practise first.
